Find out all the details behind Blast in Blast, the latest integration in our platform!

We’re taking the phrase “the more, the merrier” literally: Blast L2 endpoints are now available for builders using Blast (built by Bware Labs) infrastructure! Blast, SQUARED!

Blast L2 – Building, Yielding, all in one

Blast L2 is an Ethereum Layer-2 network developed by the creators of Blur, a leading NFT marketplace protocol. Blast L2 introduces a feature that enables automatic yield generation for ether (ETH) and various stablecoins such as USDC, USDT, and DAI. This functionality allows the aforementioned assets to begin accruing yield immediately after being transferred to the Blast L2 network. The yield generation mechanism incorporates two key elements: ETH staking and the integration of on-chain Treasury Bill (T-Bill) protocols. ETH staking involves Ethereum holders locking their ETH to contribute to the network’s operation and security, receiving additional ETH as rewards. Within Blast L2’s ecosystem, the yield from this staking is conveyed directly to the users, facilitating an increase in their ETH balance on the platform over time.

The platform leverages Ethereum’s Layer 1 (L1) staking yields, notably from protocols like Lido, by automatically rebasing ETH balances on the L2 to reflect staking rewards, a feature made viable by the Ethereum network’s Shanghai upgrade. Similarly, it provides yield for stablecoins by converting bridged stablecoins into USDB, which then accrues interest through MakerDAO’s T-Bill protocol. Furthermore, unlike other L2 solutions that retain gas fee revenues, Blast L2 implements a revenue-sharing model that redistributes net gas revenues back to Dapps, offering a mechanism for developers to either retain these funds or subsidize user gas fees, thereby potentially fostering a more developer-friendly ecosystem within its platform.

Leverage Blast L2 Network with Blast’s Public and Dedicated APIs

Blast L2 developers can now access Blast L2 Mainnet and Testnet endpoints within Blast Public APIs as well as in their dedicated accounts. Below you can find a list of features and capabilities currently available:

  • Core API: high-performance core APIs that deliver optimized throughput and reduced latency for transactions on Blast L2, alongside real-time data, transaction history, and network status.
  • Debug API: access to RPC methods for inspecting and debugging, while being able to set specific flags during runtime.
  • Archive Nodes: access to historical transaction information on the Blast L2 blockchain, from the genesis block to the current one.
