Metis is an Ethereum Layer 2 Rollup platform that offers simple and fast smart contract deployment within the network. Metis provides several solutions to solve the big challenges we face in the main net Ethereum, including transaction speed, cost, and scalability. Metis’ aim is solving the persistent blockchain trilemma for Ethereum, allowing #BUIDLers to achieve all three dimensions of decentralization.

Transaction costs have risen dramatically while transaction speeds have slowed due to the enormous surge in demand for Ethereum. Through their Ethereum Smart L2, Metis improves throughput (many more transactions per second) as well as transaction speed (lickety split quicker finality). The need for permissionless and open cooperation led to the development of Metis Andromeda, which offers Ethereum users an EVM equivalent that is quick and simple to use at Layer 2. A series of improvements were implemented after the launch, including gas calculation, peer node support, a community validator program, and, lastly, the Smart L2.

Web3 developers require constant access to a variety of networks and resources in a field that moves as quickly as it does. Because of this, the ecosystem of supported blockchains and API tools within Blast is always expanding in response to the demands of blockchain developers and consumers.

Having integrated support for Metis, Blast API currently supports 41 networks and 23 chains, with the goal of being a driving force of advancing blockchain adoption and assisting Web3 #BUIDLers from development to production, release, and beyond.

We build another stone on the path to widespread adoption with the integration of Metis into Blast API. We sincerely think that our efforts align with Metis’ goal of propelling dApps, Businesses, and Communities (the ABC of blockchain) into their ultimate form: boundless.

As we seek to encourage wider Web3 adoption, we plan on developing additional tools and services that will improve and hasten the development processes of Metis #BUIDLers.

Let’s take a quick look at how you can use Blast APIs to bring your dApps to Metis!

How To Generate a Dedicated Metis API in Blast

  1. Go to blastapi.io
  2. Press on Get endpoint or Connect. If you have never used Blast before:
  3. Connect with your Metamask wallet or Wallet Connect and follow the steps below.
  4. Create a new project to be able to generate your API endpoint or use one of the projects you have already created
  5. Inside the project space, go to Available endpoints and activate Metis.

You now have your own Metis endpoint!

Blast also offers a Metis public API, which can be found here:

And if you need support on integrating Blast within your dApps, contact us on Discord and our engineering team will be happy to assist you!

Try it out and let us know how it went! We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Why Decentralization Matters in Web3

Why Decentralization Matters in Web3 Web3 is built on a philosophy of decentralization. It was born out of a growing distrust of the centralized companies and technologies that currently make up the web. However, as the blockchain space evolves, we are once again beginning to see centralized infrastructure become the backbone of this technology. In […]
